Dear CRCHC Patients and Community,
North Carolina Medicaid Managed Care is live as of July 1, 2021. All beneficiaries that moved to NC Medicaid Managed Care were enrolled in one of five health plans, either by selecting a health plan during open enrollment or through the auto-enrollment process. In June, beneficiaries were mailed welcome packets with information on their health plans and new Medicaid ID cards. Patients have until September 30, 2021 to change plans for any reason. After September 30, 2021, there must be a valid reason to change health plans.
Patients transitioning over to NC Medicaid Managed Care and want to keep their PCP they have now:
Choose a health plan that your provider works with
o Call 1-833-870-5500
o Or go online at ncmedicaidplans.gov
o You can ask your provider which health plans they work with.
Choose the provider you have now
If patients want to choose a different PCP, think about the following:
Is there another provider you already like?
How far are you willing to travel to see a provider?
Do you need a provider to speak a certain language?
Is the provider accepting new patients?
