June is Men’s Health Month. Check out the following five ways you can help spread awareness and education around men’s health this month.
1. Encourage early screenings-
Women are twice as likely to go to the doctor than men. Early screenings and regular checkups can not only save money in the long run but catch potential problems before they worsen and save lives.
2. Father’s Day is on June 20, 2021-
Father’s Day is the perfect time to gift your dad with a healthy gift and show your appreciation for all that he does. Why not get him a new healthy cooking device, a fitness tracker, a gift card to a vitamin store, or a subscription to a men’s health magazine or monthly healthy subscription box.
3. Check for colorectal cancer-
Men are high-risk for colorectal cancer. Colorectal cancer can be prevented with regular screenings. Most at risk from colorectal cancer are men over 50 and those with a family history of the disease. It is recommended to start screening early at age 45.
4. Stay active & eat well-
The best way you can help your loved ones stay healthy this month is encourage healthy habits, exercising regularly, and eating nutritious.
5. Wear blue-
This June 18th, wear blue in honor of Men’s Health Month. This campaign was created to raise awareness for men’s health and encourage men to live longer and healthier lives by getting regular health screenings and making healthy choices!
