Cabarrus Rowan Community Health Centers, Inc. (CRCHC) is a private non-profit organization that was founded as a new start Section 330 funded Community Health Center (CHC) in March 2006. CRCHC provides comprehensive, high-quality primary health care to our patients regardless of ability to pay. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), we provide health care to all members of our community, including low income, indigent, and uninsured patients who may not otherwise be able to afford health care via traditional sources.
Our primary care centers offer sliding fee scales for those patients who are uninsured or low income, as well as prescription assistance so that all people can afford and have access to quality health care for both acute and chronic conditions. Our goal is to provide all residents of Cabarrus, Rowan and nearby counties with a medical home and with a provider they can know and trust, in an atmosphere that promotes respect and dignity.
We have three primary care centers in Cabarrus and Rowan Counties:Logan Family Medicine

CRCHC began with a vision shared by many in our community of providing access to health care to low income and uninsured members of our community. In 2003, Cabarrus Health Alliance (Cabarrus County Health Department) secured a $100,000 grant from the State of North Carolina with the assistance of Senator Hartsell, to begin the process of establishing a Community Health Center in Cabarrus County.
In doing the research, it was found that there were two areas that met the requirements for Federal 330 grant funding according to census track information, that being the McGill area and the Logan area. In July, 2003 Pillowtex closed leaving many people in need of healthcare but without insurance.
In the August /September 2003 timeframe, a task force was formed to file a grant application for a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC). Members of the task force included representatives of Northeast Medical Center, Cabarrus Health Alliance, The Community Free Clinic, Department of Social Services, Cabarrus Family Medicine, and other members of the community along with government leaders.
The grant request was denied. The grant application was redone and resubmitted in 2004 and again denied. A grant application was submitted a third time in early 2005. Finally, the vision and hard work of the task force resulted in the opening of the Cabarrus Community Health Center on March 6, 2006. Many community partners have worked tirelessly to see this organization come to fruition and many still serve on our board of directors.
CRCHC began leasing the former McGill Family Life Center facility on December 6, 2004 from McGill Baptist Church. CRCHC later purchased the facility, now known as McGill Family Medicine on October 26, 2005. CRCHC signed a lease with the City of Concord on June 21, 2006 for the facility at Logan now known as Logan Family Medicine.
Our Logan Family Medicine facility was formerly the Logan Family Resource Center. Our newly renovated McGill Family Medicine practice was previously the gymnasium for McGill Baptist Church. Through generous grants from the Cannon Foundation, Cabarrus County Government, and the Cabarrus Foundation; as well as donations from the Cabarrus Rotary Club and many others, the funding for our renovations and equipment were provided to make McGill Family Medicine a state-of-the-art care facility.
In 2010 we applied to the federal government to expand into Rowan County. Salisbury is the county seat of Rowan County. The application was denied but after resubmission in 2011, the application was approved by Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) in June 2012, and the China Grove Family Medicine site opened in December 2012.
